Looking for a reliable solution to combat tick and flea infestations on your dogs? Simparica is a trusted product and fast-acting preventative against ticks and fleas for at least 5 weeks. It can also be used to prevent flea infestations and as part of a treatment strategy for Flea Allergy Dermatitis
Powerful Tick and Flea Control:
Simparica kills ticks and fleas before they can lay eggs, providing effective control and preventing environmental contamination.
Fleas are eliminated within 8 hours of attachment, while ticks are eradicated within 12 hours (24 hours for ticks already on the animal prior to administration).
Safe and Trusted Treatment:
Simparica has been extensively tested and exhibits enhanced selectivity, targeting insects and acarines.
It is well-tolerated by dogs.
Simparica comes in chewable and palatable tablets that are readily consumed by dogs. If needed, the tablet can be given with food or directly into the mouth.
The tablets should not be divided, and only one tablet should be removed from the blister at a time.
Optimal Treatment Schedule:
To achieve optimal control, administer Simparica at monthly intervals.
Begin treatment at any time of the year and continue without interruption in areas where fleas and ticks are prevalent year-round.
For Otodectes cynotis infestations (ear mites), administer a single dose for two consecutive months.
For Demodex canis infestations (mange mites), administer a single dose for three consecutive months.
How it works:
Sarolaner, the active ingredient in Simparica, acts as an acaricide and insecticide, targeting the central nervous system of insects and acarines.
Its primary mode of action involves blocking ligand-gated chloride channels, namely GABA and Glutamate, within the central nervous system of these pests. By disrupting these receptors, sarolaner hinders the uptake of chloride ions by GABA and Glutamate gated ion channels, leading to increased nerve stimulation and subsequent elimination of the targeted parasites.
Treatment of puppies less than 8 weeks of age and/or dogs weighing less than 1,3 kg should be based on a benefit-risk assessment by a responsible veterinarian. Do not treat pregnant and lactating dogs. Not for use in humans. Keep this and all drugs out of reach of children and pets. For use in dogs only. Always read the packaging insert prior to administration.
