Simply insert the cartridge into the magazine of the RALOGUN®, aligning the hole in the axle with the handle of the RALOGUN®. Rotate the cartridge clockwise to ensure proper seating and check the window at the top to confirm alignment with the plunger.
Sharp Needle for Optimal Implantation: To ensure successful implantation, always use a sharp needle with the RALOGUN® Pellet Injector. A dull needle can tear tissue and hinder proper implantation. It is crucial to fully seat the needle in the RALOGUN® to ensure that pellets are expelled from the needle as the RALOGUN® plunger is extended. Failure to set the needle correctly may result in the last pellet being left in the needle instead of being properly implanted.
Precise Implantation Technique: When preparing for implantation, restrain the animal appropriately to access the ear. Cleanse the skin at the implant needle puncture site to maintain hygiene standards. The subcutaneous implant site is between the skin and cartilage on the backside of the ear, below the midline of the ear. Take care to position the implant needle at a point toward the tip of the ear, at least one needle length away from the intended deposition site.
Safety and Efficiency: The RALOGUN® Pellet Injector ensures both safety and efficiency during the implantation process. Squeeze the trigger to deliver a full dose of RALGRO®, keeping the trigger depressed while withdrawing the needle to ensure the implants stay in place. After implantation, wipe the needle with cotton or gauze moistened with alcohol or a suitable disinfectant. Avoid dipping the needle in a solution, as it may cause plugging of the needle due to solution clinging to the inside.
