DESCRIPTION
Acriflavine in Glycerin is a topical antiseptic suitable for the treatment of contaminated wounds and to reduce swelling. Suitable for use in all species.
Acridines, including Acriflavine are highly effective antiseptics against both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. Acriflavine offers the advantage of maintaining its efficacy even in the presence of body fluids and pus, while being relatively non-toxic and non-irritating. It is a suitable option for treating contaminated or suppurating wounds, particularly after thorough cleansing.
Glycerin is commonly used externally due to its emollient properties. When directly applied to mucous membranes or damaged skin, glycerin absorbs moisture and enhances the penetration of drugs held in solution. Its hygroscopic action makes it valuable in managing inflammatory conditions.
COMPOSITION
Acriflavine in Glycerin is a 0,1% solution of Acriflavine hydrochloride in pure Glycerin(1:1000).
